01 1. About These Terms
These Terms of Service govern septic services provided by Victoriaseptic to customers in Victoria and the surrounding area. They apply to every quotation, booking and invoice unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.
By booking work with us you accept these terms. If anything here conflicts with a written quotation we have given you, the quotation governs for that job.
02 2. Septic Work We Provide
We provide septic tank pumping and cleaning, system inspections, component repair, drain field diagnosis and replacement, new system installation, grease trap servicing and related commercial work.
We do not provide interior plumbing services beyond the point where a building drain leaves the structure, and we do not carry out wiring or panel work on treatment units or pump chambers; that is referred to a licensed trade.
03 3. Quotes and Pricing
Quotations given by telephone are estimates based on the information you provide and are not binding. A firm price is given on site once the tank lid has been located and opened, or once soil evaluation has been completed where the work is an installation.
Where price ranges are published on this website they are typical ranges for guidance and are not offers. Disposal fees, excavation of buried lids and extended hose runs are itemised separately on quotations.
04 4. Permits and Approvals
Where work requires a permit or approval from a municipal or health authority, we prepare and submit the application on your behalf unless agreed otherwise in writing. Permit and application fees are shown as separate line items.
We cannot guarantee that an authority will grant an approval, or the time it will take to do so. Where an application is refused, we will set out in writing what alternatives exist for your site.
05 5. Workmanship and Materials
Work is carried out to the standards applicable at the time and, where a permit applies, to the approved drawings. Materials supplied carry the manufacturer's warranty; we pass through the benefit of those warranties to you.
We are not responsible for the performance of components we did not supply or install, or for any part of a system that was concealed and could not reasonably have been inspected.
06 6. Payment
Payment for routine service is due on completion unless credit terms have been agreed in writing. Installation and replacement work may require a deposit, which is stated on the quotation.
Invoices include the disposal receipt for any waste removed. Where an account remains unpaid beyond agreed terms we may suspend further scheduled service.
07 7. Emergency and Out-of-Hours Work
Emergency callouts are available outside normal hours and carry a premium rate, which is stated to you before a vehicle is dispatched.
Emergency work is intended to relieve an immediate problem. It does not constitute a diagnosis of the underlying cause, and any follow-up repair is quoted separately.
08 8. Cancellation and Rescheduling
Scheduled visits may be rescheduled without charge given reasonable notice. Where a vehicle has been dispatched and access cannot be obtained, or the work cannot proceed for reasons outside our control, a callout charge may apply.
We may reschedule where weather, ground conditions or access make work unsafe or likely to damage your property, and we will tell you why.
09 9. Access and Safety
You are responsible for providing safe vehicle and personnel access to the work area, and for telling us about known hazards, including buried services, unstable ground and animals on the property.
Open tanks and wet wells are confined spaces containing gases that are dangerous. Customers and other occupants must keep clear of any open access point while our personnel are working.
10 10. Liability
We maintain insurance appropriate to the work we carry out. Our liability for any claim is limited to the value of the work giving rise to it, except where liability cannot lawfully be limited.
We are not liable for damage to unmarked private services, for pre-existing defects in systems we did not install, or for consequential loss including loss of business, save where such exclusion is not permitted by law.
11 11. Privacy
We collect only the information needed to quote, schedule and carry out work and to maintain service records for your property. Service history is held against the property address.
We do not sell customer information. Records may be shared with regulatory authorities where we are required to do so, and with waste receiving facilities as part of disposal documentation.
12 12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction in which the work is carried out, and any dispute is subject to the courts of that jurisdiction.
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
13 13. Contact
Questions about these terms, about an invoice or about work carried out should be directed to us by telephone on (613) 324-9141 or through the contact page on this website.
We aim to respond to written enquiries within two business days.
